There are a bunch of external controllers made by third party companies which may look appealing to you if you look for an alternative for your old mouse. Leap Motion is by far the most interesting one for me. However, if it is the features that become your main concern, you can go with either Ego! Smartmouse or the newly released iKazoo.

iKazoo : The Most Versatile Entertainment Assistant Ever!

Similar to Ego, iKazoo is loaded with features which only appear in the wildest ideas of geeky designers. Heck, it can also be played as a flute. So, the next time you get bored with your computer, you can blow it off like crazy. According to the developer, you don’t need to understand about any notes or even musical talent. The device will deliver some ice tunes as long as it’s got air passing through it.

Specifically, there are three different sensors which are built into iKazoo: touch, breath, and optical sensors. Connection is made via Bluetooth but for some reason, it only works with Bluetooth enabled devices that have a camera. The software and source code is entirely open source, so you, developers, can have fun and mess up with it. Check out the pitch video below!

To start off the mass production, iKazoo’s creators put up a crowdfunding campaign atIndiegogo. Backers can preorder the basic version with a pledge of $79. To secure up-touched model with stylus-like functionality called “Smart Writer Cap”, you need to shell out a handsome $135. So, there you have it, a device that allows you to control your computing devices using your voice, motion, touch, and even your breath!
